Operate forklift trucks safely, efficiently, and effectively while unloading trucks and moving freight within the distribution center.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Move incoming merchandise from truck to dock and from dock to appropriate stocking areas.
- Stock all rack merchandise and arrange rack surplus from zones in the correct manner.
- Set down rack surplus for zones so orders can be filled and replenishments can be made to stocking locations.
- Perform any miscellaneous tasks that require a forklift.
- Replenish outbound totes as needed, where applicable.
- Assist with maintaining mezzanine zones.
- Maintain safety standards while operating and identify unsafe practices and situations.
- Serve as a trainer, if experienced: manage the DC target training program, ensure training is conducted on schedule, complete all documentation, explain job duties and functions to new team members, and communicate departmental or procedural changes to existing team members.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Required: Work well in a team environment; operating knowledge of forklift trucks and power equipment.
- Desired: High school diploma or equivalent (GED); experience operating various types of power equipment; advanced knowledge of parts lines in warehouse and surplus merchandise locations; advanced computer skills; fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
