Position SummaryThe Warehouse Associate supports branch operations by ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of inventory while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment. This position plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional customer experience through accurate order fulfillment, inventory integrity, and operational excellence.
Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, dependability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Order Fulfillment & Shipping- Accurately pick, verify, pack, and process customer orders and branch transfers.
- Utilize warehouse management and ERP systems to complete order fulfillment activities accurately.
- Prepare shipments using company-approved shipping systems and carrier requirements.
- Ensure all shipments include proper labeling, documentation, and packaging.
- Meet established standards for order accuracy, productivity, and customer service.
- Receive inbound inventory and verify shipments against purchase orders and transfer documentation.
- Accurately process receipts and inventory transactions in company systems.
- Put inventory away promptly in designated warehouse locations.
- Identify, communicate, and help resolve receiving discrepancies or damaged shipments.
- Perform scheduled cycle counts and assist with maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Support inventory accuracy through established inventory control procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (training and certification provided as required).
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse using established housekeeping standards.
- Assist with warehouse organization, product movement, stock rotation, and inventory optimization.
- Follow established warehouse processes and standard operating procedures.
- Work collaboratively with branch teammates to meet operational and customer service goals.
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors regarding operational issues, inventory concerns, safety hazards, and process improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrate flexibility by assisting with other branch functions as business needs require.
- Foster a positive, dependable, and professional work environment through teamwork and accountability.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and customer-specific safety requirements.
- Properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, or near misses.
- Operate equipment safely and responsibly while maintaining a safety-first culture.
Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned or modified at any time to meet business needs.
Hours/Schedule- Part-time, non-exempt hourly position.
- Up to 15 hours per week.
- Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
- Schedule may vary based on branch operating hours and business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, or distribution experience preferred.
- Experience in industrial distribution preferred.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to safely learn and operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing business needs.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to learn ERP, warehouse management, and shipping systems.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to providing exceptional internal and external customer service.
- Familiarity with Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement principles is preferred but not required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must maintain regular and reliable attendance.
