This opportunity is for Special Education Teachers to provide support across multiple school sites in Lancaster, SC, for the academic year. The role focuses on delivering specialized instruction within various classroom settings, including moderate and multi-category self-contained classrooms and co-taught resource rooms across elementary, middle, and high school levels.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized education plans tailored to students with varying levels of special needs.
- Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusive classroom environments.
- Manage classroom behavior and foster a supportive learning atmosphere.
- Maintain accurate records and collaborate in individualized education program (IEP) development.
- Engage with families and staff to ensure consistent support for student progress.
Location and
Hours:
- Multiple schools located in Lancaster, South Carolina.
- Elementary School hours: 8:30 AM – 3:35 PM.
- Middle School hours: 7:30 AM – 2:45 PM, including a part-time position (18-20 hours/week).
- High School hours: 8:30 AM – 3:35 PM.
- Weekly hours range from 35 to 37.5.
Qualifications:
- Active South Carolina Special Education Teacher License with multi-category endorsement or the required certifications.
- Experience teaching in moderate to intensive special education settings preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in co-taught and self-contained classroom environments.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Preferred experience working with specific age groups noted in application.
