The OpportunityAs a Radiation Oncology Physicist, you will play a central role in:
- Clinical physics services and advanced treatment delivery
- Comprehensive quality assurance programs

MUSC Health Radiation Medicine is a dynamic, academically driven department committed to innovation and excellence. We treat approximately 1,700 patients annually and are the only program in South Carolina offering both Total Body Irradiation (TBI) and Total Skin Electron Therapy (TSET).
Advanced Technology & Clinical Resources- You’ll work with cutting-edge systems, including:
- 2 Varian True Beam and 1 True Beam STx with HD MLC
- Accuray Radixact
- Elekta Flexitron HDR (dedicated brachytherapy suite planned for 2026)
- Varian Vari Seed LDR with Quick Link (I-125, Pd-103, Cs-131)
- Gamma Knife Esprit
- Siemens Somatom Confidence RT Pro CT simulators with RGSC & RPM
- Vision
RT optical surface monitoring
Treatment Planning Systems Eclipse with ARIA, Ray Station, Gamma Plan, Nucletron Oncentra
Specialized Services Eye plaque planning (I-125), Gamma Tile (Cs-131), MIM-supported workflows
Physics Resources IBA & SNC scanning systems, Mobius, Velocity, comprehensive QA instrumentation
Qualifications- Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Radiology (A )
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or related discipline
- Preferred experience with:
- Varian True Beam
- Eclipse treatment planning
- Elekta HDR
- Gamma Knife
- Programming expertise and a strong interest in emerging technologies are highly desirable
