Chemical Scientist

We are currently seeking a Chemical Scientist to become a valued member of our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the laboratory with various testing procedures in a secure work environment. It is crucial for this role to efficiently manage time in order to complete all assigned tests. The Chemical Scientist should possess a willingness and ability to learn laboratory processes that support testing, as well as the theory and troubleshooting of instrumentation.

Roles and Responsibilities

Testing:

  • Conducting Release, Stability, and Special Request testing on finished products and raw material samples using Standard Operating Procedures, in-house test methods, and/or compendial methods.
  • Capable of independently executing in-house methods and procedures with minimal assistance.

Teamwork:

  • Adaptable to changes in the testing schedule and open to implementing laboratory improvements suggested by management or colleagues.
  • Assisting in the training of new laboratory staff and documenting training according to established laboratory SOPs and programs.

Safety Requirements:

  • Maintaining a Safety-First mindset and being vigilant of the work environment while in the laboratory.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and the proper calibration and maintenance of all testing equipment.

General Responsibilities:

  • Training on various instrumentation such as Laboratory Balances, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), and more. Willingness to learn new laboratory test methods and additional instrumentation as needed.
  • Completing projects assigned by management within established deadlines while effectively managing testing responsibilities.
  • Staying up-to-date on publications from USP, FDA, and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with analytical applications, release specifications, and documentation practices.

Minimum Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have over a year of laboratory experience in a cGMP environment, with a preference for experience working with Gas Chromatography (GC) and/or Liquid Chromatography (LC). Effective interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel are essential.

Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree in Chemistry, preferably with a concentration in Biochemistry, Inorganic, Physical, or Polymer Chemistry.
