P&O Assistant

Schedule: 8am-5pm

Position Summary

The HR Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to the human resource department. The role may involve recruitment, payroll administration and other HR areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide support for the recruiting process (e.g., schedule interviews, send background checks, attend job fairs/recruitment events, conduct drug tests and contact select candidates).
  • Coordinate new hire orientation process (schedule orientation, prepare orientation paperwork, create employee files), including I-9 completion/compliance.
  • Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Support auditing, review and processing of paperwork and forms.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives, including engagement, job fairs and HR assessments.
  • Maintain confidentiality and perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Support company Open Enrollment period to ensure smooth processing.
  • Support payroll processing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Other Duties
  • Work overtime as dictated by business whether mandatory or voluntary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of Human Resources/payroll/clerical experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months.

  • Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 21–50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.
Work Environment

The employee is rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is usually low to moderate.
