Summary
The Project Manager, Strategic Initiatives is responsible for leading cross‑functional projects that support the growth, operational excellence, and strategic objectives of the assigned account. This role partners with cross‑functional teams to plan, execute, and implement strategic initiatives that improve operational performance, customer service, business scalability, and financial performance. The Project Manager oversees projects from initiation through implementation, ensuring alignment among stakeholders, managing timelines, mitigating risks, and delivering successful outcomes.
This position requires strong collaboration, project leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills, along with the ability to influence across multiple business units while supporting DSV's commitment to operational excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional strategic projects supporting the assigned account and other business initiatives from planning through implementation.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, milestones, resource requirements, and implementation strategies.
- Coordinate project activities across Operations, Brokerage, Equipment, Information Technology, Finance, Customer Success, and other cross-functional teams.
- Facilitate project meetings, document action items, monitor progress, and communicate project status, risks, and milestones to leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively resolve issues to ensure successful project execution.
- Support the implementation of new customer initiatives, operational enhancements, business process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, executive summaries, dashboards, reporting, and project status updates.
- Analyze operational processes and recommend scalable solutions that improve efficiency, service quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Assist with reporting, data analysis, KPI development, and performance measurement to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, carriers, and external business partners to ensure project success.
- Support organizational change management efforts and facilitate the successful transition of completed projects into day-to-day operations.
- Monitor project deliverables, budgets, timelines, and performance to ensure objectives are achieved.
