Customer Service Rep, Recreation & Leisure
Summary
Provides customer service to patrons in person and by telephone, answering questions and assisting with registration and facility reservations. This position focuses on the reservation and rental side of operations and requires the ability to perform heavy lifting and transport supplies and equipment between City rental facilities. Hours may vary depending on scheduled bookings and may include late evenings. Recreation Attendants are also responsible for assisting with closing multiple facilities across the city.
This is a part‑time position, but it is scheduled year‑round.
- Facilitate customer relations with a positive, professional attitude and tact.
- Provide information to the public by answering phone and emails and responding to requests.
- Promote, implement, and assist with recreational activities, including but not limited to youth programs, athletic leagues and tournaments, adult and senior programs, and special events.
- Assist with programs and events by registering patrons for classes and events; entering or documenting registrations; setting up equipment or supplies, completing clean‑up activities.
- Provide customer service and respond to routine inquiries regarding the city’s recreation and park facilities, services, and programs.
- Act as the main person of contact throughout the reservation, ensuring the reservation location is clean and in order before the renter arrives. Ensure that the renter understands and complies with the venue policies and rules.
- Respond to the assigned reservation location on time. Check individual renters in at their scheduled reservation location. Complete vehicle inspection sheet each time the City vehicle is driven.
- Oversee and be prepared to handle set‑up according to the set‑up schedule/diagram as well as break down of set‑ups. Handle any unexpected issues or maintenance for cleaning any facility.
- Provide a final walkthrough with the renter at the end of their event to make sure the facility is left clean and orderly as it was received.
- Assist with logistics as needed.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
- Provide assistance in coordinating recreation and/or other special events hosted by the city. Process participant registration for various types of recreation classes and activities, including receiving and processing fees.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or ExperienceMust be at least 18 years of age. Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsPrefer at least one-year experience with Community Pass and six months cash handling experience.
