Job Description

The CMOP program provides prescription mailings for veterans and other patients. Services will support CMOP’s mission by preparing prescriptions and packages accurately, timely, and cost-effectively without disruption to services or production.

Pro Sidian seeks a Pharmacist Technician to support an engagement with The Veteran’s Affairs Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP). Services shall include transcription of prescriptions, pharmaceutical dispensing, prescription reconstitution, patient consultation, quality improvement, and supply control duties.

This is a Contract Contingent position and the Pharmacist Technician services shall be performed at: 2962 S Longhorn Drive, Lancaster, TX 75146. The selected candidate is expected to fulfil the Service Tasks to a satisfactory level of professionalism and quality.

To perform duties related to this project, the Pharmacist Technician must meet the minimum education and experience requirements set forth.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

  • Education:

    High school diploma or GED equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year experience in a retail pharmacy or customer service setting.
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Call-up patients using the queuing system with two patient identifiers, fill and dispense new and refill prescriptions, and verify accuracy of labels and auxiliary labels as required.
  • Records: create, maintain, and dispose of government required records only.
  • Pre-package high usage medication in designated quantities and log medications under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
  • Operate and perform routine cleaning and maintenance on pharmacy automated counting/dispensing equipment as instructed.
  • Daily light cleaning of countertops, supply shelves, disposal of medications, and sanitization of the reconstitution/compounding area.

Mandatory Knowledge and

Skills:

  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage functions and staff to meet program objectives.
  • Knowledge of the military healthcare organizational structure and related policies, procedures, and operations.
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills through approved training and ability to learn new systems and processes.
  • Fluent reading, writing, and speaking of English to communicate with patients.
  • Typing skills and computer literacy with Microsoft Windows/Office.

Service Quality - Filling/Dispensing prescriptions

  • Quality:
    No more than 2 errors per month in filling/dispensing prescriptions.
  • Quantity:
    Average 500 to 1,000 prescriptions filled per month.
  • Customer Service:
    No more than 1 customer complaint per month where the employee is named.
