Position Summary

The HR Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to the human resource department. The individual in this role may be involved in recruitment, payroll administration and any other area of human resources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides support for the recruiting process (e.g., schedule interviews, send background checks, attend job fairs/recruitment events as needed, conduct drug tests and contact selected candidates).
  • Coordinates the new hire orientation process, including scheduling orientation, preparing orientation paperwork, and creating employee files, and ensuring I‑9 completion/compliance.
  • Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Provides support on auditing, reviewing and processing paperwork and forms.
  • Participates in special projects and initiatives, including engagement, job fairs and HR assessments.
  • Maintains confidentiality and performs all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Supports company Open Enrollment period to ensure smooth processing.
  • Supports payroll processing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Other Duties
  • Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of Human Resources/payroll/clerical experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in unregulated temperatures ranging from mild to moderate.
  • Results‑oriented.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Attention to detail and ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High sense of urgency and customer service focus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible with shifting priorities and business needs, including working a flexible schedule to support the business.
Compensation

Expected base pay range: $21.00 – $23.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
