The Procurement Specialist - MHE supports the Senior Manager, Procurement - MHE in the administration, coordination, reporting, and execution of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) procurement activities across the North America network, including powered industrial trucks (e.g., forklifts), automated and ancillary equipment, and related maintenance services. This role assists with sourcing, supplier communications, contract tracking, procurement documentation, spend reporting, fleet data maintenance, and follow-up on key initiatives involving Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and related technology (e.g., telematics).
This role works closely with the Senior Manager, Procurement - MHE to keep procurement processes organized, accurate, timely, and aligned with DSV business objectives.
- Supports the Senior Manager, Procurement - MHE in executing the North America MHE category strategy, including initiatives related to growth, savings/avoidances, standardization, supplier performance, and operational support.
- Assists with the preparation, coordination, and administration of RFQ/RFP activities, including data collection, supplier communication, quote tracking, meeting coordination, and documentation follow-up.
- Maintains accurate MHE-related records, including fleet information, purchase documentation (including lease and rental), supplier contacts, pricing files, contract dates, renewal timelines, and program trackers.
- Supports spend analysis, category reporting, savings tracking, and KPI reporting to help monitor procurement performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinates with Operations, Safety, Finance, IT, and other support teams to gather requirements, validate site needs, confirm equipment specifications, and support timely implementation of procurement initiatives.
- Assists with supplier onboarding, quarterly business review preparation, scorecard updates, service-level tracking, and follow-up on open supplier action items.
- Provides administrative and analytical support for MHE programs such as telematics, fleet management systems, maintenance programs, and equipment standardization.
- Tracks the rollout of executed agreements, pricing updates, equipment orders, and vendor programs to ensure key stakeholders have current information and required documentation.
- Helps organize and maintain procurement templates, dashboards, trackers, presentations, supplier files, and process documentation for the MHE category.
- Supports compliance with company procurement procedures, safety expectations, equipment standards, and documentation requirements.
- Performs other procurement, reporting, coordination, and project support duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, Procurement - MHE.
Education & Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, Business or Logistics or equivalent fields is required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, operations support, vendor management, project coordination, or related business support functions.
- Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate as required.
Skills:
- Strong proficiency in MS Office applications is needed.
- Working knowledge of procurement administration, vendor coordination, reporting, and capital equipment or fleet-related sourcing support. Familiarity with fleet management or telematics platforms (e.g., Crown Info Link, Raymond iWAREHOUSE, Powerfleet) is a plus.
