Carrier Sales Representative, Road

• Source, negotiate, and secure carriers and drivers for available freight
• Manage daily dispatch operations and communicate shipment details to carriers
• Track and monitor shipments from pickup through delivery
• Provide timely shipment updates to internal teams and customers
• Collect and verify carrier documentation for shipment closeout and billing
• Build and maintain long-term carrier relationships
• Collaborate with Account Managers on operational support, pricing, and customer updates
• Assist with customer service and account management functions
• Monitor market conditions, rate trends, and seasonal fluctuations
• Generate carrier leads and onboard qualified partners
• Identify and resolve shipment or service issues
• Perform additional duties and project work as assigned

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in logistics, freight brokerage, or customer service
• Minimum 1 year of carrier sales experience with a focus on drayage
• Strong understanding of transportation and drayage operations, including carrier regulations and best practices
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint)
• Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
• Strong negotiation, persuasion, and relationship-building abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical thinking and strong mathematical aptitude for pricing and rate analysis
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Professional phone presence and effective interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work in an office setting and occasionally travel to driver terminals, job fairs, or recruiting locations
• Ability to support extended or staggered hours for multi-shift recruiting needs and communication across time zones

Demonstrates expertise in logistics and freight brokerage, with a strong focus on carrier sales and drayage operations. Proficient in managing dispatch operations, building carrier relationships, and utilizing Transportation Management Systems for effective shipment tracking and communication.
