We are seeking a Public Works Operations Supervisor to become an integral part of our team! This position is responsible for overseeing the operations, maintenance, repair, and construction of municipal infrastructure, including roads, bridges, parks, stormwater systems, and public buildings. This role requires effective leadership, hands‑on technical skills, and a strong focus on safety and efficiency in the execution of public works tasks.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in managing teams, budgeting, project management, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of public works operations, including maintenance of streets, parks, utilities, and stormwater systems.
  • Familiarity with safety standards, regulations, and best practices in public works.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team of workers including overseeing daily operations and evaluating performance.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with staff, management, and the public.
  • Proficient in using public works management software and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required) and five (5) years water, wastewater, street, and storm sewer construction experience, three (3) years of which is in a lead or supervisory role,
    or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Class C Water, and Class II Wastewater License.
  • Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen, criminal background, and post‑off physical exam.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license.
