Professional Painter​/Material Associate

Salary: D.O.E. (Depending on experience)
Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and motivated Professional Painter / Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong forklift experience, painting skills, material handling experience, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. This position requires an individual who is reliable, takes pride in their work, and can operate forklifts safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities Perform professional painting duties, including preparation, priming, painting, touch-ups, and finishing of equipment, materials, or assigned work areas.

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and ensuring proper coatings are applied to meet quality standards.

Inspect completed work to ensure a high level of craftsmanship, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Handle, organize, move, and stage materials safely and efficiently throughout the work area.

Load, unload, and transport materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment.

Maintain proper inventory organization and material accountability.

Follow company safety procedures and maintain a safety-first mindset at all times.

Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety and housekeeping standards.

Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production and operational goals.

Assist in other operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements Proven experience as a professional painter with strong knowledge of painting preparation, coatings, finishes, and quality workmanship.

Previous material handling experience required.

Forklift experience is required; certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver high-quality work.

Reliable, dependable, and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Education:

High School Diploma/G.E.D.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft software

Forklift Certified Willingness to learn

Must be able to work overtime as necessary

Physical & Work Environment Fast-paced stockroom environment and requires regular physical activity, including frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting materials, and occasional use of forklift equipment.

Must be able to stand, walk and sit over 2/3 of the time

Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel over 2/3 of the time

Must be able to reach with hands or arms over 2/3 of the time

Must be able to climb or balance under 1/3 of the time

Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl over 2/3 of the time

Must be able to talk and hear clearly

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds over 2/3 of the time

Must have a depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
Must be able to work in high, precarious places under 1/3 of the time

Must be able to perform around toxic or caustic chemicals under 1/3 of the time

Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions over 2/3 of the time

Must be able to endure loud noise (Examples: horns, material handling equipment)
