Position Summary

The Quality Checker is responsible for coordinating safety and quality functions and assisting the Supervisor. This may include auditing shipments, work areas, processes, or other areas or functions as assigned by management. The role ensures the warehouse is in compliance with safety and quality policies and principles, implements identified safety and training programs, and performs a variety of associated operations. All duties are performed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety and work rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain the Document Control Center, Data, and Records of the Quality System.
  • Support, document, and follow up on Internal Audits, QMS/QIS, and Corrective Actions raised from Internal Audits.
  • Update visual aids, process instructions, quality procedures, corrective and preventive actions, and client documentation.
  • Generate and update control charts and Quality QOS.
  • Review and validate all controlled documentation used and displayed throughout the plant against QIS.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects.
  • Collaborate with the Supervisor to develop improvements to employee performance and service provided to all other departments.
  • Conduct plant tours to detect any activity not in compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and/or area.
  • Develop any new activity or project assigned.
  • Ensure Weekly Triggers files are sent to suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Manage follow‑up of aged material processes; notify customers for proper disposition.
  • Manage excess/slow‑moving inventory and seek disposition.
  • Maintain Vendor/Parts profile updates in the system.
  • Improve operations communication with suppliers and customers.
  • Prepare all paperwork and backup data for return shipments.
  • Ensure customer responses meet service objectives.
  • Prepare reports and monitor compliance.
  • Set up and maintain vendor, contact, and part profile information.
  • Actively participate in Customer/Internal Corrective Action and Improvement Plans.
  • Support other areas as required.

Minimum

Required Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to handle basic statistical control methods.
  • Previous inventory experience.
  • Current or prior experience with a Quality Management System.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

  • None
Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities

Computer Skills

  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, Windows, and Visio.

Language Skills

  • English (reading, writing, verbal)

Mathematical Skills

  • Basic to intermediate level.

Other

  • Perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Adapt to change and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Current or prior experience with a Quality Management System.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in logistics, distribution, or a related environment.
  • Experience with Internal Audits, Document Control, and Corrective Action plans.
Work Environment

Employees are rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is low to moderate.

The expected base pay range is $23.00 – $23.00. Actual compensation will be based on experience, skills, education, certifications, geographic location, and applicable laws.
