Role DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at the Walmart Distribution Center in Lancaster, TX. This position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of warehouse equipment and systems, including conveyors, forklifts, palletizers, and building infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, completing corrective repairs, and documenting work in maintenance systems.
The Maintenance Technician collaborates with operations and safety teams to minimize downtime, support safe working conditions, and respond promptly to equipment failures. The role may involve working in varying temperatures, standing for extended periods, and rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong equipment maintenance and maintenance & repair skills, with experience working on industrial or warehouse systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical issues to quickly identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment to extend asset life and reduce downtime.
- Background in industrial maintenance, including familiarity with conveyors, material-handling equipment, and building systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders; basic computer skills for maintenance documentation.
- Commitment to safety practices, adherence to OSHA and company standards, and use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with operations, engineering, and vendor partners.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant experience in a distribution center, manufacturing plant, or similar industrial environment is a plus.
