The Material Handler is responsible for picking, scanning, labeling, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product. This role counts and inspects product and notifies leadership of damages or discrepancies. Associates are accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and will perform duties as assigned.

As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety and quality, and to comply with corporate and site-specific policies.

• The picking function includes using a pallet jack to accurately pick orders to fulfill client demands. Picks products, stages them in appropriate areas, stacks, packages, bands, shrink wraps and labels products per client requirements. All picking is performed according to Standard Operating Procedures.

• Use appropriate documentation to ensure products and orders are received, handled and shipped correctly. Verify that products and/or orders meet quality standards and report damages or discrepancies. Stack, package, shrink wrap and label products as defined by SOPs.

• Execute all safety protocols and perform tasks in a manner that promotes safety.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area and assist in warehouse security.
• Comply with Standard Operating Procedures and safety rules, including OSHA/SDS Standards.

• Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and report any equipment problems. Follow prescribed work methods.
• Maintenance and upkeep of equipment; perform or assist in building, grounds and equipment maintenance as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

• None

Language Skills

• English (reading, writing, verbal)

Mathematical Skills

• Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties related to handling, storing, and distributing client products.

Other Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy; complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision; adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.

• 6 months experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment
• Current or prior MHE certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals is rarely required. Noise level is usually low to moderate.
