Maintenance Worker II - Code

Maintains grounds, highways, municipal and rural roads, and rights‑of‑way by performing the following duties under the supervision of the Senior Code Officer. Performing certain code compliance inspection duties.

• Walks and/or drives vehicles to assigned route and picks up litter and debris.
• Maintains the City right‑of‑way by removing litter and illegally dumped items.
• Regularly monitors areas known for illegal dumping.
• Drives truck and trailer to transport illegal dumping and equipment to worksite.
• Removes debris caused from extreme weather conditions.
• Appropriately disposes of litter and debris.
• Interacts with citizens and employees regarding problems/concerns and reports feedback to supervisor.
• Performs additional general maintenance or grounds keeping activities as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
• Performs a variety of code compliance inspections including residential, commercial and industrial property and drives to and from destinations assigned by supervisor.
• Removes illegal signs.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Valid State Class A (CDL) Driver’s License;
Driving is a requirement of this position.
