Air Quality Compliance Engineer

Overview

The Air Quality Compliance Engineer conducts high-level complex engineering tasks related to air quality compliance assurance across several Wyoming counties for the Department of Environmental Quality's Air Quality Division. The position inspects industrial facilities, processes, and emission control equipment; works with industry personnel on regulatory compliance; and provides technical guidance to ensure air quality standards are met. The role involves field inspections, report writing, training junior staff, managing complex projects, and coordinating with the Attorney General's Office on enforcement actions.

• Inspect industrial facilities, processes, and emission control equipment for regulatory compliance.
• Work with industry personnel to ensure adherence to air quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure air quality standards are met.
• Conduct field inspections and prepare detailed reports.
• Train and mentor junior staff; manage complex projects.
• Coordinate with the Attorney General's Office on enforcement actions as needed.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer's (PE) License required at time of hire (Wyoming PE required within one year).
• 1-2 years of progressive work experience in engineering.
• Knowledge of industrial processes and pollution controls.
• Ability to travel and work outside in inclement conditions, climb ladders and catwalks.
