The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Behavioral health nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on evidence‑based nursing practice guidelines.
• Complete physical and mental health assessments.
• Develop care plans for patients, helping them be as independent as possible.
• Administer and monitor treatment regimens.
• Administer prescribed medications under the supervision of qualified medical staff.
• Observe and report behavioral changes.
• Help patients improve their coping abilities and meet goals.
• Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
• Perform other position‑related duties as assigned, depending on the assignment setting.
• Provide direct care through licensed practical nurses and nursing aides, and float to various clinical services where qualified and competent.

New graduates encouraged to apply.

• Current BLS.
• Must have knowledge through training or experience in patient care activities for adult patients (age 18‑64) and geriatric patients (age 65+).
• Must be capable of meeting the stresses and demands of the position as listed in the Working Conditions Section.
• Must be able to communicate and comprehend effectively in written and spoken English.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
