We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive patient care within Women's Services. The RN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes. This role includes caring for patients across Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, Antepartum, Triage, and OB/GYN services, while supporting patients and families throughout their healthcare journey.
Key Responsibilities- Perform patient care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other nursing care activities.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions and responses to treatment with the healthcare team.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, nutrition, elimination, and ambulation.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, transfers, referrals, and discharge planning.
- Identify patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and individual circumstances.
- Advocate for the physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being of patients.
- Assist physicians during labor, deliveries, and Cesarean section procedures.
- Circulate during Cesarean sections and provide post-operative nursing care.
- Attend the neonatal station during Cesarean deliveries and perform comprehensive newborn assessments following delivery.
- Monitor fetal status and maintain competency in fetal monitoring practices.
- Identify and communicate critical patient information to physicians and care team members promptly.
- Provide nursing care across various Women's Services areas, including:
- Labor and Delivery (L&D)
- Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP)
- Postpartum
- Antepartum
- Nursery
- OB/GYN
- Triage
- Support unit operations and assist in other patient care areas as needed based on facility requirements.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wyoming or active RN Compact License.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience in:
- Level I Nursery
- Postpartum
- OB/GYN
- Labor and Delivery (L&D)
- Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP)
- Experience caring for:
- Labor and delivery patients
- OB/GYN surgical patients, including post-operative hysterectomy care
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient care skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing patient care needs and work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Willingness to float to other units as needed to provide support based on facility census requirements.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- STABLE Certification.
- AWHONN Certification.
- Certifications must be current and issued through the American Heart Association where applicable.
