GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Wyoming Life Resource Center (WLRC) in Lander is seeking a compassionate and strategic Nurse Manager to lead nursing teams in both the Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) and the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversee nursing care in a facility that truly makes a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.
- Build and nurture a team through hands‑on coaching, education, and professional development.
- Partner with an interdisciplinary team of professionals dedicated to the highest standards of healthcare.
- Meet with the nursing leadership team to plan and coordinate care, including nurses scheduled to attend Individual Support Plans, team meetings, Behavior Management Review Committee, and daily huddles.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and the Human Resources Department to enhance staff recruitment, retention, and professional development.
- Supervise nurses and oversee CNAs in the performance of their duties; provide guidance, coaching, and support.
- Participate in on‑call rotation.
- Direct the organization of nursing education to include competency‑based training for nursing tasks needed to provide appropriate care to residents.
- Track and approve subordinates’ time in the CGI time‑keeping system; complete performance evaluations; conduct disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Coordinate with nursing leadership to provide support for the nursing team, including documentation, training, and skill check‑offs.
- Assist with policy development, implementation, and monitoring.
- Complete chart audits; review and revise nursing care plans; provide support to the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) for program changes and improved plans of care.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of current nursing practice standards.
- Knowledge of agency policies and procedures.
- Skills in leadership, motivation, and teamwork, and the ability to lead and manage subordinate staff, including oversight of the delivery of nursing care.
- Knowledge of Skilled Nursing Facility regulations and state and federal regulations pertaining to the operation of a healthcare facility.
- Knowledge of facility and department policies, procedures, mission, vision, and guiding principles, with knowledge of continuous quality improvement, medication review, and infection control methods and requirements.
- Ability to develop nursing diagnoses and plans of care.
- Knowledge of psychiatric nursing principles and mental health concepts, with advanced knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices of persons served care and treatment.
- Ability to successfully complete all required classes and perform CPR, Crisis Management, First Aid, and Basic Life Support.
- Ability to take responsibility for own actions.
- Ability to provide training, teaching, and interpretation of information.
- Skills in time management, organization, and computer usage.
- Ability to communicate positively and effectively with residents, staff, families, guardians, and the public.
- Ability to work with and around WLRC residents, including those who may display challenging behaviors.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (typically in Nursing)
Experience:
1–3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior Nurse.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming.

Education & Experience Substitution: 4–7 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior Nurse.

- Ability to safely move (twisting, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting), position, and lift people with multiple and severe disabilities.
- Ability to see and hear sufficiently to monitor resident actions and safety.
- Ability to work directly with residents who have challenging and aggressive behaviors.
- Ability to assist with resident behavior episodes and de‑escalation, as necessary.
