Experience:
Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Level 1 Nursery, Postpartum, OB/GYN, and Labor and Delivery.
License:
Must have a valid RN license.
Certifications:
Must have ACLS, BLS, NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN certifications.
Must-Have:
- 2 years of recent RN experience in Level 1 Nursery, Postpartum, OB/GYN, and Labor and Delivery.
- Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
- Ability to float to another unit as needed.
Description:
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care appropriately. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families. Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates with team members to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or families and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients. Circulates during C-sections and assists physicians during deliveries as needed. Follows appropriate policies during the recovery and care of surgical patients. Attends the neonatal station in the delivery suite and assesses the neonate post-delivery.
Participates in fetal monitoring certification classes every two years and maintains certifications as required. Identifies necessary information for communication with physicians and patients.
