Med/Surg Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

19:00 - 07:00

Med/Surg Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. In addition to general nursing care, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Consulting and coordinating with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Preparing and administering medications (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and recording prescribed medications.
• Reporting adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with nursing policies.
• Educating patients on surgical procedures and managing post-treatment home care needs.
• Recording patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Monitoring and adjusting specialized equipment used on patients and interpreting electronic displays.
• Initiating corrective action for any adverse symptoms displayed by patients.
• Providing bedside care to a diverse range of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.
• Initiating patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.
• Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs.
• Preparing equipment and aiding physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Responding to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocols.
• Participating in discharge planning and utilizing time management skills.
• Recording all care information concisely, accurately, and completely in a timely manner.

Must have ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.

Must have Wyoming RN or multi-state RN license.
