Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
This is a 13-week contract position.
19:00 - 07:00
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery performs various interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, while also monitoring and communicating patient conditions to the healthcare team, physicians, patients, and families.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living: personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
- Evaluate patient and family learning needs, providing education appropriate to age, culture, and condition.
- Serve as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
- Circulate during C/Sections and attend deliveries, assisting physicians as needed.
- Attend to postpartum and neonatal care, including full assessment of the neonate post-delivery.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Must have current ACLS, BLS, NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN certifications.
- A valid WY RN or multi-state RN license is required.
- Two years of recent RN experience in Level 1 Nursery, Postpartum, OB/GYN, and Labor & Delivery/LDRP.
- Must have completed fetal monitoring certification and may need to float to another unit as necessary.
