Job Summary The Team

At the Western Communities Provincial Court, our team of approximately 8 staff includes a Manager, a Supervisor, a Justice of the Peace, and 5 Court/Registry Clerks. This established team collaborates closely with judiciary crown counsel, various partners, defense counsel, probation officers, and correctional staff to provide essential access to justice and administrative support. The Role

This role provides essential court clerk services that help court proceedings run smoothly while also supporting the day-to-day operations of the court registry. You will prepare and review court documents, record court proceedings, manage exhibits, and work closely with the judiciary, legal professionals, justice system partners, and members of the public. Qualifications:

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
  • 2 years of experience working in an office environment; OR
  • A combination of 2 years of customer service, clerical duties, office experience and education.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, standard computer applications, and software programs (e.g., Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • Experience in Court Programs and Applications (JUSTIN, CEIS, ARC, CTAS, CCD).
  • Experience as a court clerk and/or registry clerk.
  • 1 year of experience in a court or legal environment.
