The Deputy Fire Chief of Operations (DFCO) supports the Fire Chief, overseeing crucial operational functions and emergency response for Langford Fire Rescue. This position requires a seasoned fire service professional with a minimum of ten years of experience, including time spent in senior roles. As DFCO, you will ensure the department meets its strategic objectives and compliance with regulations while serving as a key leader during emergency incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee emergency response and departmental management

• Provide leadership continuity and operational excellence

• Act on behalf of the Fire Chief as needed

• Lead strategic planning for long-term operations

• Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations

Requirements:

• Ten years of progressive fire service experience

• Fire Officer III certification (NFPA 1021) required

• Incident Command Level 300 certification

• Valid BC Driver’s License Class 5 with air endorsement

• Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
