Slegg Building Materials is seeking a Category Sales Manager – Roofing to lead sales growth and product strategy for our extensive lineup of brand‑name roofing solutions and two in-house custom metal shops. This is a high‑impact role for a driven sales professional who wants to shape category performance across Vancouver Island’s residential construction market. Compensation package; base salary plus commission ($80,000 - $100,000), plus a company vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grow sales within the residential roofing category
  • Promote and sell leading brands including Owens Corning, Malarkey, GAF, Siplast, Polyglass, 3M, Sika, CGC, Menzies, Canplas, and Airfoam
  • Manage relationships with vendor partners within the category to strengthen collaboration and drive mutual growth
  • Collaborate with VP of Sales and Vendors to prepare accurate and competitive project quotes
  • Partner with Regional Operations Managers to ensure efficient, productive logistics support
  • Support sales growth and customer satisfaction through project execution delivered “on time, one time, every time”
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the roofing sales team
  • Provide ongoing training to staff on best practices in roofing and ventilation systems
  • Represent Slegg at trade shows, customer events, and industry functions
The Requirements
  • 5+ years of roofing and sales experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Proven problem‑solving ability
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship‑building skills
  • Confident presenter with the ability to engage senior management and key customer decision‑makers
  • Valid driver’s licence
