Blaster Helper at BW Gold

Support blasting operations at BW Gold's Blackwater Mine in British Columbia. This permanent role assists with explosive handling, preparation, and loading for efficient mining processes.

As a Blaster Helper, you will report to the Development Supervisor and aid the lead blaster in crucial tasks related to blasting operations. Your responsibilities will include transporting explosives and maintaining safety protocols during operations. Previous experience in construction or mining will enhance your candidacy for this position while promoting a safe working environment throughout the site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparation and loading of production blasts

• Handle and stage explosives according to safety regulations

• Prepare and clean blast holes for effective loading

• Establish and maintain blast exclusion zones and signage

• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of blasting equipment

Requirements:

• Previous experience in blasting or surface mining preferred

• Knowledge of safe explosive handling practices

• Physically fit to lift heavy materials

• Good communication and teamwork abilities

• Valid driver's license is preferred
