SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant to the Board of Education and Superintendent is a high-level support role responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of the District's primary leadership offices. This individual serves as the official Board Secretary and provides critical administrative and HR support, requiring an exceptional degree of discretion, legal compliance, and professional diplomacy.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Board of Education
Serve as Board Secretary, providing timely support to the Board President and Board of Education Members
Responsible for the coordination of all aspects related to the Board of Education
Coordinating, documenting, and attending all Board meetings, Committee meetings, and Public Hearings
Create and post agendas for all meetings and take official minutes
Adheres to the OMA (Open Meetings Act)
Perform other tasks and assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Education
Provide administrative assistant support to the Superintendent
Provide excellent customer service to parents and community members
Perform other tasks and assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent
Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources
Provide administrative assistant support to the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources
Provide excellent customer service to all staff
Perform other tasks, and assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent
SKILLS TO SUPPORT THESE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
High level of integrity and trustworthiness; maintains confidentiality of privileged information.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Maintains punctual and regular attendance.
Strong work ethic with the ability to provide consistent high-quality work, with attention to efficiency and accuracy.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Highly organized, maintains deadlines, and able to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner.
Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, with the ability to manage complex digital filing systems and board management software (e.g., Board Paq, Simbli, or similar)
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Such other skills and qualifications as the Board and Administration may establish.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
Prior related Board of Education secretary preferred.
Required:
Motivated to continuously learn and develop industry-related skills and certifications.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in an office setting with extended periods of time sitting and/or standing.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Exposure to video display terminals occurs regularly.
Ability to accept work interruptions in a considerate, helpful manner.
Ability to remain professional and composed when dealing with sensitive or high-pressure inquiries from the public or staff.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds
WORKING DAYS/HOURS
Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.
- 4:00 p.m.
Regular attendance at evening Board of Education meetings (typically the first Monday of each month) is required.
Regular attendance at various committee meetings is required after 4:00 p.m. each month.

SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary range based on experience: $90,000 - $125,000
12-Month Contract (260 paid days ), July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027
