As a Buyer at Connexus Industries, you will play a vital role in supporting our manufacturing operations by sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and equipment for our industrial chain, laser, and metal detector product lines. This position is responsible for supplier management, procurement execution, inventory coordination, and logistics support to ensure materials are delivered on time, at the right cost, and to the required quality standards.
You will work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and logistics partners to keep our supply chain running efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities :
Sourcing & Supplier Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring clear communication and timely issue resolution.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve best value and support business objectives.
- Monitor supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Evaluate suppliers for quality, delivery performance, and compliance with contractual requirements.
Procurement & Inventory Management:
- Analyze procurement requirements, including specifications, costs, and delivery timelines.
- Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders in compliance with company policies.
- Track purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and proactively resolve delays or discrepancies.
- Coordinate with finance, sales, and operations teams to align procurement with business needs.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, including consignment stock at overseas factories.
- Manage inventory adjustments, transfers, and annual inventory counts (data entry, recounts, and adjustments).
- Communicate with vendors regarding RFQs, ETAs, and order status, and provide timely updates to sales teams.
Logistics & Shipping:
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
- Issue purchase orders for freight and brokerage services for U.S.
-bound shipments. - Manage shipping activities, including carrier selection, rate negotiation, and shipment tracking.
- Prepare and process shipping and customs documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and import/export paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and hazardous materials procedures.
- Resolve shipping issues such as delays, damages, or customs clearance challenges.
- Liaise with customs brokers to expedite import/export shipments.
- Determine landed costs and process documentation for received purchase orders.
- Maintain delivery schedules and expedite shipments for time-sensitive sales orders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- APICS Certification or equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
- Solid understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Experience with procurement systems and inventory management practices.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with supply chain regulations and industry standards.
- Additional language skills, including Mandarin, are an asset.
