Pay Range: $27–$30 CAD/hour (based on experience)
Reports To: HR Manager
Position OverviewWe are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support our HR Manager in managing HR operations across both the United States and Canada. This role requires a strong understanding of cross-border employment practices, compliance, and employee relations.
Key Responsibilities- Support the HR Manager in daily HR operations across U.S. and Canadian employees
- Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local employment laws in both countries
- Assist with recruitment, including job postings, candidate coordination, and interview scheduling
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes for U.S. and Canadian employees
- Assist in maintaining accurate employee records in accordance with legal requirements in both jurisdictions
- Assist HR Manager respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and employment standards
- Assist in administering payroll and benefits for both U.S. and Canadian employees
- Support policy development and updates to ensure compliance with cross-border regulations
- Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, and documentation
- Prepare HR reports and ensure proper recordkeeping for audits and compliance
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–5 years of HR experience, preferably supporting both U.S. and Canadian work forces
- Working knowledge of U.S. employment laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, EEOC) and Canadian employment standards (federal and provincial)
- Experience with multi-state and/or multi-province HR compliance
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
- Bilingual (English and French, Canadian)
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, or Canadian HR designation such as CHRP)
- Experience with cross-border payroll and benefits administration
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
