Underground Journeypersons:FIFO; Mechanic​/Electrician

Thyssen Mining is currently seeking Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics and Journeyman Red Seal Electricians for one of our projects located in British Columbia. This is a fly‑in/fly‑out position operating on a 14 x 14 schedule (2 weeks on, 2 weeks off). If you are a detail‑oriented and energetic Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic or Journeyman Red Seal Electrician, we want to hear from you!

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair underground mobile equipment
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on heavy‑duty equipment
• Repair or replace mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel engine components
• Test and verify repairs to ensure equipment meets manufacturer and safety standards
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture in all work activities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain underground electrical systems
• Perform maintenance on dewatering systems, ventilation, and fixed plant infrastructure
• Diagnose electrical faults using testing equipment and schematics
• Install and maintain PLC systems, VFDs, and communication systems
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
• Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and site requirements
• Support safe work practices and ongoing operational improvements

• Interprovincial Red Seal (Heavy Equipment Technician)
• Experience working on underground or heavy mobile mining equipment (asset)
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues

• Journeyman Red Seal Electrician Certification
• Experience in underground mining or heavy industrial environments (asset)
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and controls
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings

• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
• Ability to work in physically demanding underground environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Team‑oriented with effective communication skills
• Willingness to work rotational schedules (day/night shifts)

• Competitive hourly wages (based on experience) ($66‑75/hr)
