Join the Township of Langley as a full-time Utilities Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Division. Engage in essential sewer construction and repair tasks, ensuring safe work practices.
This role involves reporting to the Manager of Utilities Operations in a unionized setting. You will take on semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance and repair of sanitary sewage systems. Your ability to use judgement and initiative will support effective collaborative efforts with experienced crews.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clean and maintain lift station wet wells
• Handle maintenance for air valves in force mains
• Perform blowdown and fan maintenance operations
• Maintain sanitary sewage pumps and storm water systems
• Responsible for the upkeep of lift stations and generators
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
• Knowledge of tools used in sewer maintenance
• Familiarity with safety standards and practices
• Commitment to ongoing learning in sewer construction techniques
• BC Class 5 Driver’s License with a current Personal Driving Record
