As an armed Security Officer, you will be responsible for conducting foot patrol within various environments and providing superior service to customers, visitors, and employees.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Composing reports
• Monitoring CCTV and alarm systems
• Controlling access and egress
• Deterring criminal activity and misconduct
• Performing other duties as needed

Additional duties under the SSC G.E.T. principles:

• Welcome customers, guests, shoppers, victims, associates, tenants in a warm, gracious manner
• Engage proactively to scan for potential threats
• Seek out and develop rapport with customers by assessing what is important to them
• Stay current with the latest information (crime trends, threats, local attractions, etc.)
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call police/fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons
• Identify and warn violators of rule infractions (loitering, smoking, prohibited articles)
• Permit authorized persons to enter and monitor entrances and exits (may use handheld wands or walk-through magnetometers)
• Prevent theft of company property
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs
• Liaise with local law enforcement
• Share information with customers when necessary
• Guide customers to destinations or key points of interest
• Anticipate and answer customer inquiries; know job and local area
• Facilitate guest services (transportation, area attraction inquiries)
• Troubleshoot customer issues, relay pertinent information to management
• Ensure area of control is clean and professional
• Assist with basic first aid
• Make emergency notifications
• Perform security patrols on foot or vehicle

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pass state licensing test if driving company vehicle
• Pass and possess a state licensed armed security guard card/License when required
• Minimum 1 year experience as a security officer (preferred)
• Graduate of accredited high school or GED certificate

• Ability to follow orders
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office)

• At least 18 years old (or state minimum)
• U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to operate radio/telephone equipment and console monitors

• Proactive, taking initiative with minimal supervision

• Subject to drug screen as permitted by law
• Provide DD214 discharge document if prior military

• Indoor and outdoor; temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat
