Job Summary

The Office Clerk reports to the Office Manager and is responsible for daily processing of company business transactions. This position may include one or more clerical tasks such as keypunching for routes, filing, customer service, or other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Accurate and timely computer data entry.
  • Excellent communication skills both in person and over the phone.
  • Participate in office training and cross‑train in office functions.
  • Use Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for reporting.
  • Perform tasks such as reconciliations, daily deposits, customer master maintenance, daily revenue calculation, daily branch journal, branch item maintenance, bank statement processing, fixed asset reports, accrual reconciliations, property and sales tax reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Print and organize daily paperwork for routes, use postage meter, manage computer backups, and handle customer billing.
  • Filing.
Additional Functions
  • Perform other office functions as needed.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated computer skills or ability to learn quickly.
  • Experience with data entry and adding machine.
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to comprehend and follow direction.
Education
  • High school graduation or equivalent experience.
Typical Physical Activity

Work consists primarily of sitting and standing. Walking, talking, hearing, speaking, pulling, pushing, and occasional lifting of boxes up to 25 lbs. are required. Tasks also include filing, stooping, and fine dexterity.

Typical Environmental Conditions

This is an industrial laundry facility. Employees may be exposed to variations in temperature, odors, humidity, lint, and dust if in the plant, but will primarily work in indoor offices.
