Within Aerospace CSG, the NASA Programs Division (NPD) supports our NASA customer in all aspects of human space flight and deep space exploration program office activities. In collaboration with other agency directorates, NASA’s Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate (ESDMD) develops systems for Moon to Mars exploration. Within the directorate, the Strategy and Architecture Office (SAO) leads definition, documentation, and disposition of the overarching Moon to Mars architecture with buy-in from all stakeholders.

The SAO Science, Technology, Utilization and Integration (STUI) team enables science and technology stakeholder engagement in developing the architecture to ensure achievement of agency Moon to Mars objectives during human exploration missions.

We are looking for a
Utilization Integrator (Project Engineer - Systems Engineering) to provide strategic integration to Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate (ESDMD) in support of Science, Technology Utilization and Integration (STUI) content across the agency. The STUI team is responsible for science coordination; integration of utilization of science, payloads, and technology across mission directorates; and aligning these efforts with NASA’s broader international partner engagement strategy.

The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site in Washington, D.C. located at NASA HQ, Greenbelt, MD located at Goddard Space Flight Center

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead integration and coordination activities and content related to science integration, capability integration, and utilization across ESDMD’s Strategy and Architecture Office (SAO) STUI team and the Moon to Mars (M2M) Program Office
  • Lead coordination and integration of NASA’s utilization goals and requirements across stakeholder communities, with an emphasis on international partners
  • Develop utilization integration processes and roadmaps for partners contributing to the Artemis architecture
  • Participate in forums for technical discussions where decisions are made related to exploration architecture, mission concepts, testing/training, requirements, and verifications
  • Facilitate various working groups across the stakeholder community, including developing international content and interfacing with international counterparts
  • Facilitate strategic planning and execution of the Utilization Coordination & Integration Group (UCIG)
  • Maintain multi-year utilization outlooks and timelines (e.g., mission, crew, science, resources)
  • Maintain team schedules, which will include international participants, as well as task tracking and task completion, including integration process improvement
  • Establish prioritization efforts by working closely with STUI and M2M, document, integrate, and provide advocacy for prioritization outcomes
