Site Civil Project Engineer

Dewberry is seeking a Site / Civil Project Engineer for its Land Development operation. This opportunity is open in Maryland offices (Lanham, Baltimore, and Frederick) with expectation of some travel to other Dewberry offices.

This position requires at least 3 years of experience in civil design of land development activities including grading, storm water management, soil erosion & sediment control, public and private roadways, storm drainage, and water & sewer design. The selected candidate will work with a growing team delivering comprehensive land development services to a variety of clients, moving projects from concept to completion including design work, plan and permit processing, and construction phase services.

Individuals will be responsible for preparation and coordination of all Land Development design aspects and will work closely with Senior Project Manager and agency staff.

• Design and develop construction plans for site civil/infrastructure projects.
• Client communication.
• Prepare construction documents (plans and specifications) and technical reports.
• Conduct engineering analyses and prepare cost estimates.
• Perform quality control and quality assurance to deliver quality design products.
• Other duties as required.

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering or proven equivalent experience.
• Three (3) years of experience directly related to the design and execution of land development projects (five or more years preferred).
• FE required. PE in the State of Maryland preferred.
• Preparation of reports, exhibits, and site/civil construction plans.
• Strong technical capabilities in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and Acrobat.
• Strong understanding of civil site design for retail, commercial, residential, and urban redevelopment projects.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D or other model‑based software desirable.
• Ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Skill sets including the ability to perform or direct civil‑related engineering work across diverse design projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to become proficient in Dewberry engineering practices, standards, and specific software programs.

Salary range: $85,000 to $109,000.
