Job Description
Dewberry is seeking a Site / Civil Project Engineer for its Land Development operation. This opportunity is open in any of our Maryland offices (Lanham, Baltimore and Frederick) with the expectation of some travel among Dewberry offices.
The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of experience in civil design for land development activities, including grading, storm water management, soil erosion & sediment control, public and private roadways, storm drainage, and water & sewer design. The selected candidate will work on projects from concept through completion, including design, permitting, and construction phase services. They will be responsible for the preparation and coordination of all land development design aspects and will work closely with the Senior Project Manager and agency staff.
Responsibilities- Design and develop construction plans for site civil/infrastructure projects.
- Client communication.
- Preparation and oversight of construction documents, plans, specifications, and technical reports.
- Engineering analyses and cost estimates.
- Quality control and assurance to deliver a high‑quality design product.
- Other duties as required.
- BS degree in Civil Engineering or proven equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience directly related to land development projects (5+ preferred).
- FE required; PE in Maryland preferred.
- Preparation of reports, exhibits, and site/civil construction plans.
- Strong technical skills in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong understanding of civil site design for retail, commercial, residential, and urban redevelopment projects.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D or other model‑based software desired.
- Capability to deliver projects that meet technical requirements on time and within budget.
- Ability to perform and direct civil engineering work on diverse design projects across various market segments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to become proficient in Dewberry engineering practices, standards, and software programs.
The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $109,000.
