Speech Pathologist
Position Objective
Evaluates pediatric through geriatric patients for Speech Language Pathology services providing therapeutic intervention specific to the individual needs of the patient and completes interventions and documentation according to regulatory and departmental standards.

EssentialJob Duties
- Conducts therapy evaluations and treatments using a variety of appropriate treatment techniques and documents according to established departmental policies and procedures.
- Participates in department or hospital initiatives for the community as appropriate.
- Demonstrates the ability and required competencies to cross‑cover by evaluating and treating patients with a variety of diagnoses in various units.
- Participates in departmental process improvement initiatives (huddle, metrics, and innovative ideas).
- Meets departmental productivity standards and completes productivity logs in a timely manner.
- Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives, engaging in excellent customer service practices, including but not limited to following ICARE.
- Actively participates in interdisciplinary meetings, departmental in‑service activities, evidence‑based journal article review, and/or AAMC‑funded continuing education courses.
- Provides technical supervision, direction, and support to staff therapist assistants, rehab aides, students, and volunteers.
- Consults with and serves as a resource for physicians, nursing staff, and other clinicians to increase knowledge of therapy services, demonstrating ability to use clinical decision‑making skills to triage caseload and problem‑solve patient care issues.
- Functions as a therapy leader performing administrative tasks as needed (e.g., patient scheduling, completing predictive staffing matrix).
- Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology.
- Acute care or related experience preferred; however, new graduates will be considered depending on current departmental staffing.
- Current license in Speech‑Language Pathology by the Maryland Board of Audiology/Hearing Aid Dispensers/Speech and Language Pathologists.
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech‑Language Hearing Association.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification.
There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood‑borne pathogens.

Pay Range$50—$55 USD
