MRI Technologist
Performs MRI procedures on all age groups in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Processes MRI scan sequences, verifies demographics and technical information, checks technical quality of films. Participates as a member of a specialized medical team in performing specialized MRI scans of various organs and in preparing patients for specific procedures.
Reviews pathology, surgical, and other reports to monitor patient progress and provide a means for evaluating the accuracy of MRI examinations. Assesses consistently the patients condition and administers first aid as required, assists physicians in cases of adverse reactions or emergencies. Confers with Supervisor to recommend changes, report problems, and provide feedback to improve patient care, technical quality, and clerical functions.
Monitors equipment performance and reports problems to the Manager, records malfunctions as required. Assists in the clinical instruction of technologists and students when needed. Provides care for physically and mentally compromised patients. Prioritizes patients in work flow appropriately. Proficient in assisting the patient care team in MR sedation cases. Monitors compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and policy requirements and MRI safety policy and procedures.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
Successful completion of a two-year radiological technology program in AMA approved educational institution. Ability to complete initial (or as directed) competency on IV injections. Able to complete all MR examination types including cardiac pacemaker, pediatric, and anesthesia supported cases.

Certification by American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) CPR BLS Certification
