Skillful Steps Aba

We provide neurodiversity-affirming, assent-based ABA to children and adolescents with a range of developmental, behavioral, and mental health diagnoses. We hold a few things as central: every learner's differences are respected, every session is a safe and trusting space, and success is defined by what is meaningful to the learner and their family. We also believe this work should be enjoyable, for learners and staff alike.

If those values align with yours, we'd like you to learn more about what it means to be part of our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a BCBA
  • Provide direct one-on-one ABA services in the home, school, and/or community
  • Collect and record data on learner progress using electronic data collection software (Central Reach)
  • Collaborate with the supervising BCBA on skill acquisition programming and function-based support strategies that teach alternatives
  • Support and expand each learner's access to communication across all modalities
  • Communicate regularly with caregivers about progress and bring their priorities and observations back to the clinical team
  • Create teaching materials and visuals tailored to the learner's interests and communication needs
  • Recognize signs of dysregulation or withdrawn assent and respond by adjusting the session
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development, including training in assent-based and trauma-informed practice

Requirements:

  • RBT certification preferred; we'll support certification for the right candidate
  • Must be 18 or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Background check clearance upon hire
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs; ASD experience preferred
  • Consistent availability and reliable follow-through on a weekly schedule
  • Reliable transportation

Benefits:

  • 7 paid company holidays annually:
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Holiday PTO is paid at your contracted non-billable rate for the hours you were scheduled to work that day.
  • Time and a half for any hours worked on an observed holiday
  • 1 additional floating holiday, for a total of 8 annually
  • 5 days of personal PTO annually, paid at your contracted non-billable rate
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Short-term and long-term disability
  • Life insurance
  • 401(k)

Schedule:

Flexible daytime, afternoon, and evening hours. Schedules are built around family needs and learner availability.
