Job Overview

The Junior Desktop Support Specialist serves as part of a dynamic desktop and IT support team for Media and Publications with the IRS. The team provides support for approximately 150 employees in Washington, DC and another 80 employees in New Carrollton, MD, focusing on the IRS Common Operating Environment based on Microsoft Windows and "above baseline applications."

Responsibilities include desktop and laptop deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as support for printers, projectors, smart board whiteboards, blackberries, and scanners.

• Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops and laptops.
• Provide high‑level desktop support in an enterprise environment.
• Support printers, projectors, smart board whiteboards, blackberries, and scanners.
• Manage and resolve tickets using a ticketing system such as KISAM or Service Now.

• Familiarity with IRS processes
• Active Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) or ability to obtain an MBI

Onsite in Washington, DC and New Carrollton, MD. Expected onsite 5 days a week.

Ability to obtain a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) is required for this position.
