Responsibilities and DutiesThe Assembler will support Genesis Engineering Solutions, Inc. hardware programs/projects, on location, Lanham, Maryland. Additional rapid prototyping and production projects could be included. The Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Assembler job involves precisely assembling, soldering (SMT & Through-hole), wiring, and testing electronic components onto circuit boards and into final products, following schematics, BOMs, and quality standards (like IPC), requiring skilled use of hand/power tools, operating automation, troubleshooting, and maintaining ESD-safe, organized workstations for high-quality, functional electronics.
Working under supervision, they use hand tools like soldering irons, heat guns, and microscopes to ensure precise, high-quality connections. Key tasks include reading technical diagrams, assembling, and repairing or cleaning PCB assemblies.

Requirements- High School Diploma/GED:
Required. - 3-5+ years of proven experience in PCB/Electronics assembly.
- Strong ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
- Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience in PCB assembly, soldering (IPC-A610 knowledge a plus), and wiring.
- Proficiency with hand tools (cutters, pliers, soldering irons) and potentially automated machinery.
- Experience in ESD protocols and safe handling of components.
- Knowledge of electronic components and assembly techniques.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Skills:
Must be comfortable using Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED):
Required. - Assembly: Mount components (resistors, capacitors, connectors, etc.) onto PCBs, ensuring correct orientation, value, and placement per technical drawings.
- Soldering: Perform high-quality hand and machine soldering (SMT, through-hole) and wire crimping/routing, often to IPC standards.
- Documentation: Read and interpret schematics, work instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Inspection & Testing: Conduct visual checks (polarity, placement), perform functional tests, and document results; perform rework/repairs.
- Equipment Operation: Set up and operate assembly equipment (pick-and-place, wave solder, etc.).
- Quality & Safety: Maintain clean, ESD-safe work areas; follow safety protocols; identify process improvements.
- Support: Assist engineering with prototypes, troubleshooting issues, and support final product integration (box builds).
