RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement communications strategies that promote VOACC’s fundraising campaigns, events and donor engagement
Manage VOACC’s monthly e-newsletter and social media presence for an external audience of donors and other stakeholders
Collaborate with VOACC’s external vendors to create digital and printed marketing collateral
Efficiently manage and publish updates to VOACC’s website, ensuring that the content is accurate, up-to-date, and engaging for the audience.
Analyze various media markets to identify key reporters and influencers, targeting them for media outreach efforts to maximize VOACC's exposure and impact.
Collaborate with team members to coordinate logistics planning, ensuring smooth execution of projects and events.
Liaise with VOACC program staff to identify, gather and write consumer stories that demonstrate VOACC’s impact
Measure and report on the effectiveness of communications activities, engagement levels, and progress
Occasionally capture video and photography of VOACC’s consumers and staff as needed
Occasionally craft compelling press releases and other articles
Other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications or Marketing1 - 3 years of experience working in a professional office setting, preferably at nonprofit
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Suite and Wordpress Strong writing, editing and proofing skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Experience with graphic design preferred
Experience capturing and editing video preferred
Strong interpersonal skills with an outgoing and open personal style
Ability to travel when necessary to interview program consumers and staff for testimonialsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical requirements described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. The ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to transport oneself, consumers, and program supplies as necessary.
The physical ability to travel to assigned locations, stand, stoop, bend, reach, pull, push, lift, grasp, climb, talk, see, hear and perform basic and light home maintenance activities, and operate office equipment.
Operating office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements.
The ability to remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time
