HVAC Service Tech

Thisisaskilledmechanicalandelectricalposition,performing maintenance,installation,diagnosisandrepairofairconditioning,heatingandventilatingsystemsforcommercialandindustrialapplications.

Systemscanrangeinsizefromsmallself-containedpackageunitstolargetonnagebuildupsystemsincludingpneumatic/DDCcontrolsandrelatedsystemcomponentsincluding,pumps,boilers,chillers,andinterconnectingpiping.

ThispositionstrivesformaximumefficiencyandminimumdowntimeonHVACequipment.

Thistechnicianreportstothe Service Manager .

• Performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.
• Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines.
• Maintains and repairs chillerequipment(alltypes)
• Maintains accurate and timely paperwork.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• May lead and direct the work of others.
• Follows all safety practices and adhere to all safety related policies.
• Makes recommendations to customers to improve operation of existing system.
• Offers features such as IAQ, Humidification, or Energy Audit Services
• Provides accurate and timely communications to internal and external customers.
• Responds to emergency calls.
• Demonstrates initiative in servicing customers and maintaining positive customer relations.
• Performs a variety of complicated tasks.

• High school graduate or other equivalent.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of actual, practical working experience in the plumbing and pipe fitting and/or mechanical equipment service and maintenance industry.
• Minimum journeyman level HVAC license MD, VA or DC.
• Universal CFC certification
• Must be familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC&R controls and systems while energized and operating in close proximity to moving parts.
• Experience with commercial/industrial equipment.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Able to perform general building maintenance.
• Must be able to lift 50 to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Must be able to work on rooftops.
• Current driver’s license and clean driving record.
