ABM Industries is seeking a Test Technician II to join our Electrical Power Services team. This position performs inspection, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning activities on electrical power distribution equipment in commercial, industrial, utility, and mission-critical environments. The Test Technician II is expected to perform routine testing and maintenance activities with limited supervision while supporting project execution, safety compliance, documentation, and customer service objectives.

NETA certification is not required; however, candidates should possess the technical knowledge, field experience, and testing capabilities consistent with an intermediate-level electrical testing technician. This position provides a career path toward advanced testing, commissioning, and certification opportunities.

Required Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED.

* Minimum 2-5 years of experience in electrical testing, field service, commissioning, industrial maintenance, electrical construction, utility operations, military electrical systems, or related power systems work.

* Working knowledge of electrical theory, AC/DC systems, and power distribution equipment.

* Experience performing testing, inspection, troubleshooting, or maintenance on electrical power equipment.

* Ability to read and interpret:

* One-line diagrams

* Schematics

* Wiring diagrams

* Equipment manuals

* Technical specifications

* Knowledge of electrical safe work practices, including:

* Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

* OSHA requirements

* NFPA 70E

* Arc-flash and shock protection principles

* Experience using electrical test instruments and diagnostic equipment.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and electronic reporting systems.

* Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

* Ability to travel up to 60% based on project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

* Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Power Systems, Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.

* Previous experience with electrical testing organizations, utilities, data centers, industrial facilities, or electrical contractors.

* Familiarity with:

* NETA ATS and MTS standards

* IEEE testing standards

* ANSI standards

* NEC requirements

* Prior commissioning experience.

* Military electrical maintenance or power generation experience.

* OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, CPR/First Aid, or similar safety certifications.

* NETA certification or progress toward certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Ability to perform routine electrical testing activities independently.

* Ability to evaluate test results and recognize abnormal operating conditions.

* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple project assignments.
