Job Description

As a Materials Management Principal at Honeywell, you will be responsible for acting as the subject matter expert for the materials management process, from procurement to inventory control. Your primary objectives will include optimizing supply chain efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support our production schedules.

You will report directly to our Director Strategic Sourcing and you will work out on a remote schedule.

In this role, you will impact the company's bottom line by reducing operational expenses and ensuring a constant flow of materials for production. Your proactive approach to materials management contributes significantly to meeting production deadlines, enhancing overall business resilience, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive materials management strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives.
  • Lead procurement activities, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Oversee inventory levels, minimizing excess or obsolete stock while ensuring an uninterrupted flow of materials to meet production requirements.
  • Develop material expedite strategy across Mission Systems supplier base.
  • Review supplier production schedules to determine appropriate expediting methodology.
  • Communicate with vendors to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Institute proactive supplier surveillance program.
  • Collaborate with production and all other internal stakeholders to align material receipts with project schedule needs.
  • Implement best practices in material handling and logistics to optimize resource utilization.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on material status and forecast potential supply chain disruptions.
  • Focus on building long‑term supplier partnerships for critical platforms and program needs.
  • Institute risk mitigation plans for critical suppliers to ensure viability and stability throughout program life cycle.
Qualifications YOU MUST HAVE
  • 6 or more years of experience in materials management, procurement, and logistics, with a track record of success in optimizing supply chain processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make data‑driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in materials management software and ERP systems.
  • Deep understanding of inventory management systems and a strategic approach to sourcing and procurement.
WE VALUE
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Experience in vendor management and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of logistics and distribution processes.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement within the materials management function.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. person, which is defined as a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $100K – $130K. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the annual base salary range is $110K – $140K. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
