Elementary STEM Specialist - Anticipated Multiple positions for 26-27 SY

Reports To:

Building Principal and Curriculum Supervisors

Takes Direction From:
Building Principal, Curriculum Supervisors, Coordinator of Education Technology, and Director of Curriculum and Equity.

Schedule/Calendar: 7.5 hrs./day 191 Days

Summary:

The Elementary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Specialist delivers integrated instruction in science, technology, engineering, environmental literacy, and sustainability for grades K-6. Instruction is grounded in the PA STEELS (Science, Technology & Engineering, Environmental Literacy and Sustainability) Standards, emphasizing inquiry, critical thinking, real-world problem-solving, collaboration, and phenomena-based, three-dimensional (3D) learning to allow students to explore and construct scientific understanding based on their own linguistic and cultural experiences.

The STEM Specialist also fosters positive relationships with colleagues, students, and families, thereby increasing collaborative efforts to develop students' understanding of key scientific concepts and their application to daily life.

Education and/or Certification

Required:

* Bachelor's Degree;
Master's Degree in related fields, preferred.

* Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in elementary education (Grades K-6 OR both PreK-4 and Gr. 5-6 add on OR PreK-4 and Gr. 4-8 add on).

* Preferred:
Environmental Education PK-12;
Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Endorsement (PK-12); or Integrative STEM Education Endorsement (PK-12).

Experience Needed:

* Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience
