Civil Staff Engineer

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Site Design Staff Engineer to join our team. This role involves aiding in the design of civil infrastructure such as access roads and work pads for utility-scale solar projects, supporting permitting and occasional field work. The engineer will be a member of an integrated design team, compiling civil design plan sets with other disciplines to meet project schedules and budgets.

Clear and concise written and verbal communication is essential.

• Serve as a design team member supporting permitting, design, and construction of renewable energy projects.
• Use sound engineering judgment and adhere to ethical standards when evaluating, selecting, and applying standard technical procedures to complete project tasks.
• Gain foundational knowledge and develop engineering skills through mentored experiences.
• Coordinate with design team members to meet project milestones, contract requirements, and client expectations.
• Collaborate with design team members to uphold company standards and consistency.

• 0+ years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
• Engineer-in-Training or Engineering Intern certification, or the ability to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam within 6 months.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Effective time and workload management skills, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks with a focus on detail.
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to maintain a high standard of professionalism in all workplace interactions.
• Effective oral and written communication skills for clarity and effectiveness.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple offices.
• Ability to adhere to firm policies, practices, and procedures by following directions and guidelines diligently.
• Ability to show assertiveness and a collaborative spirit when addressing and resolving conflicts.

• Civil 3D or AutoCAD drafting experience.
